A few days ago I bought a Japanese translation book on graphic design from a bookstore.

When I read it today, I felt that the text did not make sense from the “Preface”, but I am not sure whether it is the translator’s problem, the editor’s problem, or the author’s problem. The Chinese “fake text” of Lorem Ipsum is also not translated for some reason. I had no choice but to put down the book.

Later, I checked the information on the Internet and found that Wikipedia’s explanation of the terms was not correct. The translator had no relevant professional background. Was it mistaken by Wikipedia?

Wikipedia: “Lorem ipsum, or Lipsum for short, refers to a Latin article commonly used in the field of typography design. The main purpose is to test the effect of the article or text in different fonts and layouts. A similar usage in Chinese is called chaos Count fake texts, random fake texts.”
